Project Control & Planning Engineer

📝 Job Description

Build overall plans and schedules for the execution phase of projects. Provide plans and schedules for ad-hoc construction service requests and integrated maintenance plans.

📊 Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for work activity progress reporting and regular updates of plans and schedules.

• Develop activity plans and schedules for project engineering, procurement, construction, and CSU activities in coordination with project engineers, design engineers, and construction engineers.

• Work closely with the Company Engineering & Operations planning department for engineering, construction, and CSU planning, including reporting, Primavera P6 entry, SAP daily service entry, and bi-weekly/monthly report submissions.

• Optimize and prioritize resources in conjunction with Project Engineers, Construction, and Maintenance Coordinators.

• Provide early warnings of plan delays and propose mitigation solutions to Project Engineers, Construction, and Maintenance Coordinators for resolution.

• Assist Project Engineers in job preparation.

• Prepare and update the Project baseline schedule using Primavera P6.

📈 Strategic Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor the budget of ongoing projects.

• Compare actual costs with the budget and analyze any major deviations.

💰 Financial Responsibilities

• Be familiar with all individual cost elements in the project budget to ensure accurate cost monitoring.

• Verify invoices and claims from suppliers and subcontractors to capture and record all expenditures.

• Prepare the project’s cash flow forecast based on expected fund movements.

• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure purchases align with the budget.

⚙️ Operational Responsibilities

• Analyze material, manpower, and plant costs daily, allocating them correctly to related activities.

• Identify and flag major risks and issues based on incurred costs and other financial indicators.

• Analyze and compare actual subcontractor costs with budgeted costs.

• Prepare the project's Cost-to-Complete (CTC) report and update it quarterly.
