 Production Technologist Discipline Lead (Local Omanis Only)

What’s the Role?

As a Production Technologist Discipline Lead, you will drive integration across Development, Growth, Well Delivery, Well Engineering, Completion Well Intervention (CWI), Operations, and Projects. You will ensure the Production Technology function supports exploration, appraisal, development, and production effectively, using global best practices and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion strong HSSE culture and lead by example in Shell Development Oman (SDO).

• Provide technical support for Well Reservoir & Facility Management (WRFM), Well Delivery, Development, Growth, Operations, Projects, and Low Carbon Solutions.

• Review and improve PT capabilities, close gaps, and drive Individual Development Plans.

• Maintain global networks to transfer technology and best practices, especially in tight gas development.

• Lead technology maturation for deep tight gas fields, focusing on well and reservoir performance.

• Oversee hydraulic fracturing reviews and well intervention proposals.

• Advocate adoption of new technologies (Fiber Optic sensors, downhole pressure gauges).

• Participate in Well Delivery Reviews, After Action Reviews, and advise on well construction standards.

• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentor young professionals.

• Promote technical publications and knowledge sharing.

• Support WRFM process improvements and lead gap-to-potential opportunity analysis.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in Production Technology covering WRFM, operations, new well delivery, and integrated studies.

• Experience with deep tight gas, sour gas (H2S, CO2), and horizontal wells.

• Skilled in well modeling (Prosper, GAP) and hydraulic fracture simulation (Stimplan, GOHFER).

• Experienced in well intervention proposals and gas well de-liquification.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.

• Preferred skills: FTHT prediction, equipment stress analysis (Wellcat), and complex field developments.

• Team player, positive attitude, and energizer.

• Local Omani only.

المسؤوليات الرئيسية
