Specialist Occupational Health

Job Purpose

The Occupational Health Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining employee well-being, ensuring compliance with OPAL HSE guidelines, Oman labor laws, and international standards (OSHA, WHO, ILO). This role supports the OQGN Occupational Health Framework by leading medical surveillance, workplace hygiene monitoring, and health risk assessments.

Key responsibilities include managing fitness-to-work evaluations, preventing occupational diseases, and running health promotion initiatives aimed at improving employee wellness and reducing absenteeism. The role also involves incident investigation, recommending preventive actions, and enhancing emergency medical preparedness, ensuring operational sustainability and business continuity.

The role is governed by the organization’s mission, vision, and values, in alignment with HSE standards, government regulations, and international best practices.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Establish and promote robust occupational health policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

• Conduct comprehensive Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) to identify and mitigate occupational hazards such as noise, heat, and chemical exposure.

• Monitor hygiene conditions in the workplace and suggest corrective actions to prevent health risks.

• Support and manage fitness-to-work assessments to ensure employees are medically qualified for their job roles.

• Participate in investigations of health-related incidents and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.

• Contribute to medical emergency response planning and ensure integration of best practices to support sustainability and workforce safety.

OQGN, Principal Pipeline and Piping

Job Purpose

The role involves leading the execution of pipeline and piping engineering design activities for pipeline systems and associated infrastructure under the guidance of the Engineering Manager. The position is accountable for upholding technical standards and implementing modifications to protect and optimize critical assets.

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the role includes troubleshooting infrastructure construction issues, enhancing system availability and reliability, and applying industry best practices. The position also involves developing improvement plans to ensure that the right tools and maintenance strategies are applied to sustain business continuity and operational excellence.

The role must align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values, comply with HSE standards, Oman government regulations, legal frameworks, and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical designs, studies, and deliverables related to pipeline systems.

• Act as a consultant and technical advisor to define optimal strategies and technical requirements.

• Oversee the selection and allocation of pipeline/piping engineers to various projects.

• Coordinate and monitor progress in design and support construction activities across all projects.

• Liaise with vendors and internal departments regarding design, execution, and support of pipeline/piping systems.
