Placement Lead

Location: Muscat, Oman
Company: Muscat University

  • The post holder will manage and coordinate the placement activity within Muscat University in line with the University’s strategic objectives. Performing a mix of career counseling and recruiting duties, the placement lead will assist students and coordinate with Muscat University staff and employers as well as with industry partners.

  • Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s degree and experience in recruitment, career development, B2B relationship management, or business development.

  • Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Promoting placement opportunities and benefits to students in a range of media including, but not limited to, flyers, presentations, documents, video, and online activity.

    • Being the point of contact for Muscat University students with inquiries about industrial placements and being the focal point during the placement year.

    • Managing, updating, and promoting the Student Portal with respect to placement opportunities, documentation, and application forms.

    • Delivering careers-related modules to prepare students for placement and help them reflect on their experiences. Advising and guiding students (in groups or individually, online and in person) about the application process, including CVs, application forms, interviews, and selection tests.

    • Advising students on their applications and on the requirements of undertaking a placement.

    • Working in collaboration with the work placement tutors, ensuring that they are available to meet students or employers when necessary and to brief them about placement visits and reporting procedures, as well as any problems or concerns.

    • Working with Faculty Directors to allocate workloads to the work placement tutors and ensure consistency of approach.

    • Working with the Faculty Deans/Directors to decide on appropriate employers and the suitability of what they can offer. Advising companies on the choice of candidates, arranging interviews, matching job offers to students to satisfy the needs of firms and students.

    • Scheduling and planning for the year ahead and future placements. Liaising with employers to explain the structure of the placement year, arrange visits to campus for recruitment events ensuring that employers' needs are met and that students and staff are aware of the events.

    • Collecting and/or providing feedback to employers following a placement.

    • Assessing placement opportunities to ensure they meet quality assurance guidelines, relevant academic subject validation documents, and ensuring all placements (sourced by Muscat University or the student themselves) reach the guidelines set for Health and Safety compliance.

    • Monitoring the suitability of existing placement opportunities; ensuring that employers are aware of their responsibilities to the student and of the student’s and the University’s responsibilities to them; maintaining long-term relationships with the employers concerned.


Alumni and Career Guidance Officer

Location: Muscat, Oman

  • The Alumni and Career Guidance Officer plays a pivotal role in strengthening Muscat University’s alumni network and enhancing career services for students and graduates. This position is responsible for fostering meaningful and long-term engagement with alumni while equipping students with the necessary tools, resources, and guidance to navigate their career paths successfully.



  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Alumni Relations: Develop and implement a robust alumni engagement strategy to maintain strong, lifelong connections between the university and its graduates.

    • Maintain and continuously update a comprehensive alumni database, tracking career progression and professional achievements.

    • Organize and coordinate impactful alumni events, including networking receptions, mentoring programs, career talks, and reunions.

    • Manage multi-channel alumni communications, including newsletters, social media platforms, and university publications, ensuring alumni stay informed and engaged.

    • Establish and strengthen relationships with key alumni who can contribute to the university as mentors, guest speakers, industry liaisons, or donors.

    • Collaborate with the Marketing department to highlight alumni success stories and showcase the impact of Muscat University on graduates’ professional journeys.


Legal Advisor

Location: Muscat, Oman
Company: Muscat University

  • Working directly with the Vice Chancellor, the post holder will ensure that the University complies with all standard legal practices, ensuring the highest levels of corporate governance. The post holder will also be the Secretary to the Governance Boards in the University.

  • Detailed Description:

    • Supervising the Annual General Assembly Meeting (AGM).

    • Submit the request for the meeting to the Ministry of Commerce for approval.

    • Drafting the invitation to the meeting for shareholders with the Board of Directors' report and financial report attached.

    • Attend the meeting as a legal advisor and respond to shareholders' legal inquiries according to the Commercial Companies Law.

    • Writing the minutes of the meeting and approving them from the Ministry of Commerce.

    • Receive, review, and approve nomination forms for the Board of Directors.

    • Coordinate and prepare materials for board meetings. This involves gathering reports, presentations, and other relevant documents, distributing them to board members in advance, and ensuring all necessary information is available for discussion.

    • Work with the Chairman and Vice-Chancellor to develop the agenda for board meetings.

    • Record accurate minutes of board meetings, including decisions made, actions agreed upon, and any discussions or deliberations.

    • Ensure that the board operates in accordance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, as well as the university's regulations and corporate governance policies.


Accreditation and Ranking Specialist

Location: Muscat, Oman
Company: Muscat University

  • The Accreditation and Ranking Specialist will be responsible for accreditation (both national and international) and ranking initiatives. He/she is expected to manage all aspects to obtain accreditations and enhance MU ranking.

  • Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Enhance understanding of accreditation and ranking requirements and prepare a clear timeline for each project.

    • Guide Muscat University to ensure compliance with the ranking and accrediting bodies (e.g QS ranking, Times Higher Education, ABET, AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS, etc.).

    • Manage the collection and review of the required materials to meet accreditation and ranking standards.

    • Collaborate with the relevant faculties/departments to prepare the accreditation and ranking documentation, and report progress to MU management in a timely manner.

    • Prepare the required portfolios and submit accreditation and ranking documentation within the timeframe.

    • Prepare reports on relevant areas as required.


Assistant Director for Admission, Registration and Student Affairs

Location: Muscat, Oman

  • This position is for Omanis only. The Assistant Registrar supports the Registrar and Director, Admissions and Student Administration, in delivering high-quality, student-centric administrative services across the student lifecycle.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in overseeing student admissions, enrollment, records management, academic progress, and graduation processes.

    • Ensure compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements for student administration.

    • Handle student records, data integrity, and reporting requirements.

    • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of digital student administration systems.

    • Provide direct support to students in matters related to enrollment, academic records, and graduation.

    • Work collaboratively with student services to ensure a seamless student experience.

    • Analyze student data to support decision-making and process improvement.
