Canonical is forming a new Security Operations team that
Objective: Our goal is to enhance the assurance and observable rigor within the open-source supply chain. While we will monitor our own estate, our broader ambition is to increase the resilience of the global Ubuntu estate through the efforts of this new team.
Responsibilities: The Security Operations (SecOps) team is responsible for the design, implementation, and evolution of Canonical's security practices, techniques, tools, systems, and policies. The team is the primary owner of strategies and practices that determine how Canonical secures its data, internal infrastructure, and build processes. Responsibilities include ensuring the security and integrity of our infrastructure and product deployments, designing and implementing technical security controls to automatically identify, contain, and remediate security threats. The team will also contribute ideas and requirements to enhance Canonical product security, thereby improving the resilience of all Ubuntu customers against cyber attacks.
The SecOps team's mission extends beyond securing Canonical; it also aims to enhance the security of the broader open-source ecosystem. Team members may share knowledge through public presentations and industry events, exchange threat intelligence with the wider community, or represent Canonical in sector-specific governance bodies.
2. Regional HR Manager at Canonical (EMEA)
Canonical is looking for a Regional HR Manager to support our operations across the EMEA region. With over 1,100 colleagues in 75 countries, we need an HR function that operates globally. The Regional HR Manager will report to our Global Head of HR and will play a crucial role in building our company during this phase of continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and develop an HR function for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and scale the regional HR team for Canonical, with 1-4 direct reports, depending on the region.
- Ensure precise and compliant HR operations are delivered in a timely manner and with the highest level of accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with the Talent Science and Workplace Engineering teams to create cohesive processes across all HR regions.
- Advise and execute on HR matters throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
- Partner with senior leadership within the region.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess an analytical mindset, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to interpret data trends and themes effectively.
