Instrument and Control Engineer
Key Accountabilities
- Technical Assistance: Provide expertise to resolve operational facility issues related to instrumentation, controls, safety systems, fire and gas systems, digital security, and measurement tools.
- Risk Management: Implement pragmatic solutions to manage risk, enhance production efficiency, and eliminate defects, focusing on instrumented protective systems, process controls, and alarms.
- Failure Analysis: Lead or contribute to root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and inspection result analysis, including developing and implementing solutions for small projects as needed.
- Equipment Strategy: Develop and update equipment strategies, ensuring alignment with specifications, performance feedback, and maintenance history.
- Maintenance Management: Ensure tasks in the Central Maintenance Management System (SAP) align with equipment strategies, supporting reliability through regular inspection, testing, and condition monitoring.
- Reliability Analysis: Perform reliability assessments for instrument and control equipment, identifying performance gaps and developing corrective plans based on maintenance and condition monitoring data.
- Safety Assessments: Conduct Safety Critical Work Deferral assessments and SIL (Safety Integrity Level) calculations, ensuring compliance with safety instrument functions and life cycle plans.
- Alarm and Risk Management: Support the alarm management process and provide input into risk assessments for process safety workshops.
- Management of Change (MOC): Provide Instrumentation and Control expertise to support operational changes and site projects.
- Hazard Identification: Lead hazard identification and risk assessment processes, providing expert insight for safe and compliant operations.
