Senior Proteomics Research Scientist

The Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Center (SQCCCRC) in Muscat, Oman, is a quaternary care level center providing care for adult patients with solid malignancies (no hematological malignancies). SQCCCRC is seeking to appoint a Senior Proteomics Research Scientist, who is a highly motivated individual to develop her/his professional career within the CCCRC.
Qualifications and Experience:
- PhD or post-doctoral degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Metabolomics, Biophysics, Pharmacology, or Medical Laboratory Sciences.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience after PhD in the field.
- Experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and protein chemistry, with experience in instrument tuning, calibration, and maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and excellent presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the proteomics section, manage, and execute laboratory research.
- Design, create, execute, and troubleshoot new protein mass spectrometry procedures and assays.
- Analyze, organize, and present data to the project team.
- Navigate and troubleshoot complex problems that may adversely affect test performance/results and direct others to resolve problems.
- Work within a team-oriented system to maintain a functioning laboratory environment.
- Maintain and update internal and/or external databases.
- Maintain laboratory records, organize back-up files for data generated, and maintain the lab's research protocols.
- Cooperate, communicate, and relate well to members at all levels of the Cancer Center.
- Mentor and train other staff with technical and operational procedures.
- Write scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences in collaboration with academic collaborators.
- Write standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other documents, including validation reports under standard guidelines.
- Participate in the Center’s international accreditation programs and practice compliance with the relevant standards.

يسعى مركز السلطان قابوس الشامل لرعاية السرطان والبحوث (SQCCCRC) في مسقط، عمان، لتعيين عالم أبحاث بروتيوميات أول، وهو فرد عالي التحفيز لتطوير مسيرته المهنية ضمن مركز CCCRC.
المؤهلات والخبرة:
- درجة دكتوراه أو ما بعد الدكتوراه في الكيمياء أو الكيمياء الحيوية أو الكيمياء التحليلية أو البيولوجيا الجزيئية أو التكنولوجيا الحيوية أو الهندسة الحيوية أو الميتابولوميات أو الفيزياء الحيوية أو علم الأدوية أو علوم المختبرات الطبية.
- الحد الأدنى من 6 سنوات من الخبرة بعد الدكتوراه في المجال.
- خبرة في بروتيوميات قائمة على قياس الطيف الكتلي وكيمياء البروتين، مع خبرة في ضبط الآلات ومعايرتها وصيانتها.
- مهارات تواصل ممتازة، شفوية وكتابية، ومهارات تقديم ممتازة.
المسؤوليات الرئيسية:
- قيادة قسم البروتيوميات، وإدارة وتنفيذ البحث في المختبر.
- تصميم وإنشاء وتنفيذ واستكشاف إجراءات وأساليب قياس الطيف الكتلي للبروتينات الجديدة.
- تحليل وتنظيم وعرض البيانات على فريق المشروع.
- التنقل واستكشاف المشكلات المعقدة التي قد تؤثر سلبًا على أداء/نتائج الاختبار وتوجيه الآخرين لحل المشكلات.
- العمل ضمن نظام قائم على الفريق للحفاظ على بيئة مختبر فعالة.
- الحفاظ على تحديث قواعد البيانات الداخلية و/أو الخارجية.
- الحفاظ على سجلات المختبر، وتنظيم الملفات الاحتياطية للبيانات الناتجة، والحفاظ على بروتوكولات البحث في المختبر.
- التعاون والتواصل والعلاقة الجيدة مع الأعضاء على جميع المستويات في مركز السرطان.
- توجيه وتدريب الموظفين الآخرين على الإجراءات الفنية والتشغيلية.
- كتابة منشورات علمية في مجلات ومؤتمرات محكمة بالتعاون مع المتعاونين الأكاديميين.
- كتابة الإجراءات التشغيلية القياسية (SOPs) ومستندات أخرى، بما في ذلك تقارير التحقق وفقًا للمعايير القياسية.
- المشاركة في برامج الاعتماد الدولي للمركز وممارسة الامتثال للمعايير ذات الصلة.
