Lead Game Designer
About the job
A leading game development company is seeking a Lead Game Designer with a deep love for diverse game genres and a flair for storytelling. This role involves leading projects, addressing creative and production challenges, and working closely with the Creative Director. You will be responsible for assembling design teams and partnering with collaborators. Key focus areas include team management, creativity, communication, problem-solving, and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities:
Stay informed about the latest player trends and integrate them where relevant.
Plan, detail, and directly oversee the work of Game Designers in your team.
Ensure the team is creating innovative gameplay and experiences that align with the game's vision.
Conceptualize and develop characters, rules, settings, and narratives for new games.
Independently manage various creative processes from idea pitching to rapid prototyping.
Define Game Design Documents (GDD) for various game systems and document all details, iterations, and changes for the development teams.
Review game features to ensure they are enjoyable and developed according to the defined GDD.
Regularly play game updates to provide feedback and conduct quality control.
Master continuous review and iteration processes to incorporate user feedback in game design and feature sets.
Collaborate closely with artists, developers, and other team members to ensure alignment.
Train, coach, and develop junior game designers, promoting experience sharing.
Advocate for a game-developer mindset within the team beyond mastery of game design and technical subjects.
Communicate and report to the Design Director.
Help production understand the design team’s capacity and work together to schedule and prioritize tasks.
Requirements:
Expertise in Mobile and F2P games with multiple titles shipped.
6+ years of experience as a game designer.
Strong understanding of the industry, market, and target audiences.
Ability to drive game design around key performance indicators (KPIs).
Experience in prototyping and shipping games with Unity or Unreal engines and familiarity with their constraints.
Extensive knowledge of game design principles and the gaming landscape.
Excellent communication skills and ability to write clear documentation, making complex ideas clear, concise, and compelling. Ability to give positive and constructive feedback.
Attention to detail from both technical and artistic perspectives.
Proficiency in Excel or any scripting language for maintaining game design configurations.
Strong problem-solving skills and intuitive development abilities.
A leader who encourages team collaboration.
Passionate gamer with a keen eye for detail.
Fast and willing learner.
Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in game design or equivalent is preferred.

تبحث شركة رائدة في تطوير الألعاب عن مصمم ألعاب رئيسي يتمتع بحب عميق لأنواع الألعاب المتنوعة وذوق في سرد القصص. يتضمن هذا الدور قيادة المشاريع ومعالجة التحديات الإبداعية والإنتاجية والعمل بشكل وثيق مع المدير الإبداعي. ستكون مسؤولاً عن تجميع فرق التصميم والشراكة مع المتعاونين. تشمل مجالات التركيز الرئيسية إدارة الفريق والإبداع والتواصل وحل المشكلات وتخفيف المخاطر.
المسؤوليات:
