Senior System Engineer
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of managing Cloud Services and Enterprise Systems (Linux, AIX, and Microsoft) including software deployment and upgrades, system setup, system administration, monitoring, incident resolution, problem management, configuration and change management, service desk, security management and monitoring, capacity planning, availability management, disaster recovery and routine update of services.
Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Drives the adoption and articulates the risks/opportunities of leveraging Cloud Infrastructure.
Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to respective teams.
Analyze the cloud infrastructure and provide optimization recommendations.
Oversees and directs the timely evaluation, qualification, and implementation of new software products, tools, and related appliances as it pertains to the Cloud environment.
Experience supporting DevOps automation using automation tools.
Manage applications deployment, operation, planning upgrades, and updates (Hosting platforms and Cloud service platforms).
Work on customer activation requests and manage communication with customers whenever needed.
Carrying out daily checks to ensure our applications and hosting servers are working smoothly.
Assisting management with technology planning, decision-making, implementation, and maintenance.
Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform issues and engage service owners to drive resolution.
Provide remote support and guide customers for best practices in maintaining subscriptions & configuring & renewing.
Assist newcomers with best-fit solutions according to the suggested budget.
Maintenance of WIKI and technical documentation of processes and procedures used throughout normal operations.
Apply the latest security patches to minimize internal and external access security risks.
Troubleshooting and solving tickets related to hosting platforms, emails & domains.
Development of knowledge and skills in network, operation, and application.
Automate tasks through the creation and maintenance of basic scripts.
Maintain monthly reports related to subscribers, services, and usage.
Perform a monthly knowledge transfer to L1 engineers.
Job Requirments:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science (CS), Information System Management (ISM), Information Technology (IT), or other degrees in a related field.
At least 7 years of equivalent work experience as a Cloud Application Support Engineer or similar role with Analytical and technical skills is a must.
ICT experiences are preferred.
