Role: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
- Location: Remote, EMEA
- Team Focus:
- Build and maintain a self-service internal development platform.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to meet infrastructure requirements and improve workflows.
- Enhance developer productivity through automation and education.
Technical Environment
- Languages & Tools: Go, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Drone, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Focus: Distributed computing, platform engineering, and open-source contribution.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Key Qualities: Pragmatic, detail-oriented, and collaborative.
- Skills & Experience:
- Software engineering principles, dependency injection, and test-driven development.
- Strong expertise in Linux, TCP/IP networking, and cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency in CI/CD workflows and production container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
Position Expectations
- Collaborate with engineering teams to address development workflow gaps.
- Design user-friendly platform services and tooling.
- Contribute to automation, configuration management, and application development.
- Own and maintain key components of MongoDB's internal development platform.
Success Measures
- 3 Months: Acclimate to the environment, contribute to tooling, and respond to incidents.
- 6 Months: Execute medium to large-scale projects with thorough documentation.
- 1 Year: Become a subject matter expert, driving platform adoption and making impactful contributions to the codebase.
