Gas Turbine Commissioning Engineer (Omani National)
About The Role
You will be part of the team that supports our Small Gas Turbine fleet in the field, mobilizing to deal with a whole range of activities including commissioning, overhauls, and breakdowns.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Complete pre-commissioning and commissioning activities across one application types and control systems (e.g. PCS7, CLogix).
Complete; STARMS set up, troubleshoot systems through reading control logic, carry out cause and effects check on fire and gas monitoring system (Validation of software only), Perform starting and running checks (including operating and driven unit knowledge), perform root cause analysis of start failure, set up DLE mapping, perform a trim balance.
Have an understanding of packager requirements including quality systems and implications on method of performing activities.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with relevant business partnering teams and external customers in line with Think customer principles.
Be capable of proactively driving team performance on site and addressing areas for improvement before they impact team morale or the Siemens Energy brand.
Have the ability to transfer knowledge to customer operating teams.
Train and mentor Commissioning team members.
Manage and lead onsite teams (Siemens Energy staff, third party workers and Customer operatives).
Can contribute to the overall planning of the project, on and offsite, in conjunction with the key business stakeholders.
Complete required site visit documentation i.e reports, modifications etc. Identify, define and implement Field Service best practice; responsible for the development and implementation of world class Field Service standards in all aspects of work
What You Bring
You’ll be a proven engineer, qualified to degree level or equivalent, experienced with rotating equipment and an understanding of the principles of gas turbine operations.
Previous experience in commissioning and or trouble shooting gas turbines or similar capital equipment
Excellent customer focus and communication skills
As well as your technical qualifications, you’ll be a great communicator and influential too, taking charge of teams in different countries.
A flexible attitude to travel is also required, as you may be required to mobilize on short notice

How You’ll Make An Impact
Responsible for the Project Management of Advance Service Business including Long Term
Projects, Service Agreements, Standard Outages and modification and upgrade projects related
to the Gas Services Business (Gas Turbines) in Oman. This will be according to defined Project
Management (PM) standards and customer requirements and with end-to-end responsibility for
financial results, quality, schedule and EHS.
Guides Project Management activities for advance Service Business including Long Term
Projects, Service Agreements, Standard Outages and Modification and Upgrade projects.
Definition and management of schedules, budget, risk, change control, opportunity and resource
management.
Will act in accordance with the Project Excellence @ Siemens Energy Methodology and will
perform all activities according to PM80 to PM1000 activities according to the Project Excellence
@ Siemens Energy Guide.
Resource Management will include the on-time delivery of materials, field service and technical
documentation and reports. To ensure that Contractual Obligations are fulfilled.
Responsible for developing Customer Relationships following the post-sales phase for Advance
Service Business including Long Term Projects or Service Agreements. Will meet with Customers
and lead Project progress and Technical review meetings.
Acts as lead to other project team members
Holds and seeks actively feedback (e.g. team members, managers, customers)
Using effective involvement and persuasion strategies to gain acceptance of ideas and
commitment to actions.
What You Bring / Skills, Capabilities
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline or similar from a reputable university
PM@Siemens/IPMA Level C or other internationally recognized Project Management
Certification
At least 5 years of successful experience in related field preferably within Gas Turbines,
Compressors and Industrial Steam Turbines in the Oil and Gas Market
Successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as mentioned below
Experience of collaboration with Product Lead Centers and Suppliers
Experience of collaboration with Siemens Energy Regional Companies and / or external Partners
Experience in technical function areas with commercial experience
Ability to indirectly direct / project manage internal teams (e.g. SCM & Tendering)
Project Manage the delivery of work packages from Suppliers and Product Lead Centers
Experience and comfortable with claim and change management, and leading change
management.
Short or long term delegations to foreign countries
Proactively visit customers during project execution and during project outages
Collaboration with international teams
External/Internal Contacts
Work with Customer; PM team; internal/ external suppliers/ partners/Product Competency
Centers; responsible business manager
Collaborate with engineering; procurement; logistics; manufacturing; commissioning; site
