Legal and Compliance Manager (m/w/d)
What to expect
In this role, you will:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on all topics under the scope of regulatory compliance with an emphasis on Anti-Bribery, Export Control, Sanctions, and evaluating potential legal risks
- Monitor legislative developments in relevant compliance areas and implement new legal requirements, including in the field of AI.
- Develop, implement, and maintain various in-house regulatory and compliance policies and procedures (including whistleblowing, anti-bribery & corruption, AML, conflict of interest, competition / antitrust, export control, etc.) to mitigate compliance risks.
- Handle compliance cases related to all topics in alignment with other internal units and coordinate investigations.
- Provide data protection support (e.g. identify internal data privacy gaps, and internal syncs when new products are launched/improved) with the assistance of the external Data Protection Officer.
- Be a trusted advisor and business partner across the company by providing advice to ensure agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes
- Review, draft, analyze, and revise corporate and commercial documents, including a variety of contracts with strategic partners, SaaS/PaaS license agreements, purchase and sale agreements, service contracts, statements of work, DPAs, and confidentiality agreements
Your profile in short
- 2-5 years of relevant professional experience, in a management consultancy, law firm or legal/compliance department, if possible with a background as a fully qualified lawyer or business lawyer
- Preferably a law degree with above-average success, and an understanding of operational and business demands
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills
- Analytical, creative, problem-solving, and business-focused personality
- Knowledge in IT law & data privacy law is a plus
- Fluent in English, with a focus on Legal English and German proficiency as a bonus
