Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal counsel and guidance to senior management and departmental leaders on a wide range of legal matters affecting the aquaculture business.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations applicable to aquaculture operations, including environmental protection regulations and agriculture-related legislation.
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to business transactions, partnerships, and commercial activities, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage legal risks and mitigate potential liabilities by conducting thorough legal assessments, due diligence, and risk analysis for business initiatives and projects.
- Stay abreast of changes in international and Omani corporate and contract law, and provide
proactive advice and recommendations to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks. - Represent the company in legal proceedings, disputes, and negotiations with external parties, including regulatory agencies, government authorities, suppliers, and partners.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and compliance teams, to develop and implement legal strategies and policies that support business objectives while ensuring legal compliance and risk management.
- Provide legal support and guidance on corporate governance matters, including corporate structuring, board matters, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage external legal counsel and other legal service providers as needed, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal services are delivered in a timely manner.
- Develop and deliver legal training programs and materials for employees to enhance legal awareness and compliance across the organization.
Qualifications:
- • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. Second degree in business or finance is desirable.
- • Several years of experience in civil engineering companies in roles such as consultant, project engineer, or project manager, with a track record of leading roles in successful execution of large industrial construction projects ($50+ million).
- • Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies, including PMBOK, with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- • Good knowledge of value engineering principles and investment project valuation techniques, with the ability to apply these principles to optimize project outcomes.
- • Versatility with design software, including AutoCAD and BIM packages, with the ability to develop and review construction drawings and models.
- • Proven track record of managing teams of 10+ subordinates, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
