About the job
Principal Accountabilities:
Uses materials and equipment identified in USCENTAFI 24-101 or equivalent, to prepare vehicles for long term/extended storage.
Prepares, inspects, and applies preservatives in accordance with USCENTAFI 24-101 and guidance contained in the CORTEC manual/s.
Performs scheduled and unscheduled visual inspections on all long term/extended storage assets in accordance with 36-1-191 and USCENTAFI 24-101 to include a 90 day visual inspection of all assets in extended storage.
Ensures that correct trade practices are carried out at all times with special regard to health and safety aspects in a work environment of high-risk health hazards.
Responsible for maintaining supplies and material stocks and reorders/reports shortages to the Material Control Specialist in a timely manner to insure uninterrupted production capabilities.
Prepares vehicles for final examination by the quality control inspector and or QAE to guarantee that the end item achieves or exceeds the required standard of quality.
Is responsible for issued tools.
Performs servicing and repair on all tools and equipment used in the performance of preservation and reports all unserviceable non-repairable tools to his supervisor immediately.
Attends regular safety briefings and on-the-job training as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Fuels VM & A
Knowledge & Skills:
Must have outstanding customer service and organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at an advanced level.
Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include as a minimum Power Point, Excel and Word programs.
Knowledge of the USAF maintenance management system, to include AFIS and DPAS preferred.
Knowledge of USAF Supply system and material deficiency reporting is desirable.

Principal Accountabilities:

Principal Accountabilities
Inspects, accepts documentation (DD Form 1149/1348-1), prepares and processes all outbound/inbound cargo offered for transportation in the Defense Transportation System (DTS).
Checks for completeness and accuracy. Verifies the Nomenclatures, Quantity, Transportation Control Numbers (TCN), Transportation Account Code (TAC), Consignor and Consignee Codes, Hazardous/Classified materials, ITARS certifications, and other essential transportation data.
Properly classifies freight, selects commodity codes, selects the most efficient mode of shipment, and controls obligations for government transportation funds.
Prepares all required shipping documents for data input to CMOS/GATES, assigns Transportation Control Numbers, produces labels, issues truck manifest for general/hazardous cargo and Maintains Manifest logs.
Uses automated computer systems to process and document to accurately input the Transportation Control Numbers, Transportation Accounting Codes, consignor and consignee codes and other essential transportation data into CMOS, GATES or IBS.
Inspects Hazardous Materials to ensure proper packaging, marking, labeling, documentation and certification in accordance with applicable Dangerous Goods Regulations (AFMAN 24-604, 49 Code of Federal Regulation, International Air Transport Association (IATA) and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG).
