Coordinator - ESG
Responsibility
2.1 Custodian of ESG Strategy, track progress, ensure compliance, and maintain ASI (Aluminium Stewardship Initiative) Certification.
- Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to fine tune, follow up, and execute SA’s ESG strategy and the defined implementation roadmap aligned with global standards, local regulations, and ASI Certification requirements.
- Prepare and maintain Sustainability reports, ensuring they are accurate and aligned with global reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB). The reports are intended to be for internal and external stakeholders, showcasing the company's progress and commitment to ESG principles.
- Coordinate actions across various teams to ensure maintenance of SA’s ASI Certification and upgrade to the latest version of the ASI Standards.
- Keep abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and innovations in ESG to drive continuous improvement. Identify areas for improvement within the ESG framework and recommend strategies to enhance sustainability performance.
2.2 Accountable for shaping the company's sustainability journey, promoting responsible business practices, and ensuring transparency in SA’s ESG reporting.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret data related to environmental, social, and governance performance, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
- Data includes but is not limited to Carbon emissions, energy consumption, waste management, and social responsibility initiatives.
- Develop, recommend, and deliver ESG training programs to educate employees and drive awareness of sustainable practices.
2.3 Work closely with various stakeholders within the organisation to promote sustainability practices and report on overall ESG performance.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including shareholders, government agencies, customers, and employees to gather input, provide updates on ESG initiatives, and promote ASI Certification compliance.
- Stay up to date with relevant ESG regulations and standards, inform the relevant persons internally and coordinate activities to ensure the company complies with all applicable requirements.
- Collaborate with departments to set specific ESG goals and targets, track progress, and report on achievements. Recommend relevant ESG awards to participate in and complete the application process.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proven experience in ESG or sustainability-related roles, preferably in heavy industry or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of ESG principles, standards, and reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, ASI). Experience in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or related fields.
- Familiarity with Omani regulations and ESG standards is a plus. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively and influence change across various levels of an organization.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Environmental Science, Business, Sustainability). Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Certification in ESG is preferred
