Senior Analyst - Financial Accounting
JOB PURPOSE
- To deliver finance tasks to support the leadership to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality business outcomes.
- Deliver high-quality and accounting services and document the standard operating procedures for financial accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- 2.1 Deliver timely support to enable the department to perform to the highest standards. Ensure the highest standards of confidentiality are maintained.
1.Budgeting Control
- Prepare the Finance department annual budget for the CFO review and approval.
- Analyse the monthly actual vs budget spend and recommend corrective actions to the CFO.
- Draft the Finance department monthly report with input from the Finance Department leaders for review.
- Lead the annual CC budget for the finance department. While a broad understanding of the overall planning process is required, the candidate will be responsible for gathering detailed financial data for budget compilation, analysis of submissions to controller and CFO. ⠀⠀
- 2.Board and Finance Committee
- Maintain utmost confidentiality is a must in the committee papers are bound and distributed by the Job Holder to Board of directors and Finance Committee members.
- 3.Accounting
- Support the Finance team in analysing utility invoices and preparing and executing the charge out to employees for personal cost recovery.
- Assist in the invoice transaction processing (MIRO) at year ends.
- Assist in cost control activities .
2.2 Under direction, maintain the policies and procedures of all financial accounting departments to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Maintain and deliver all financial accounting policies, processes, and procedures.
- UpToDate and continuously improve the procedures to ensure the documented procedures are matching with the current operating practices.
- Update and prepare the financial accounting manual and the flow charts to reflect the current operating practices.
- Prepare the internal control assessment report on monthly basis and report the deviations to CFO and FC for corrective actions.
- Follow the latest improvements in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting standards and update the existing policies to align with the amendments to the standards.
- Liaise with the banks and insurance companies and maintain appropriate contacts, policy documents, other information for reference in future for meeting arrangements.
- Deliver the financial analysis reports and financial information as required.
- Schedule meetings for CFO and maintain the finance division leader’s calendar.
- Prepare the monthly financial analysis ( ratios, trends and sensitivity analysis ) as requested by CFO and other finance leaders Other.
- Assist in preparing annual audit and tax schedules.
- Liaise with the external auditors to provide the necessary information to facilitate the audit. Manage the insurance risk engineers’ site visits and arrange meetings with the departmental managers.
- Support the CFO in preparing the annual road show presentation for insurance road show.
- Manage the STIP auditor meetings with the departmental managers and collect all the supporting documents from the departments and maintain the document records.
- Learn, know and apply company’s law, labour law and other related laws of Oman. Apply this knowledge in daily work to ensure tasks are completed in a manner that is consistent with the law.
- Liaise with Departments to obtain the necessary documentation and information to perform the creditors’ function.
- Knowledge of Company’s commercial markets for finished goods and raw materials.
- Prepare the monthly reports from the data derived from LME/CRU/HARBOR/ Fast markets/ S&P websites.
- Deliver IFRS technical sessions to the junior team members in finance.
- Perform financial analysis work for CFO as may be needed from time to time. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀
- Delivering financial advice and support to Area and Departmental business leaders. Delivering recommendations.
- To ensure the SA businesses meet their financial target. Actioning the more difficult and complex tasks that are assigned to the payroll team, including auditing, balancing, controlling and processing the payroll.
- Coaching the junior staff and transferring technical and organizational skills and knowledge.
- 2.3 Action the SA Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) routines to maintain high EHS standards
- Action the SA EHS safety routines.
- Conduct EHS risk assessments on major projects.
- Analyse EHS equipment risk.
Sound skills and knowledge of:
- Business administration
- Secretarial work
- Principles of financial accounting
- Financial policies, procedures and processes.
- Corporate law, VAT law, Corporate income tax law, financial regulations and SA financial policies.
- Bookkeeping
- Data processing

Requirements
Degree in Finance or related field with minimum 5 years of relevant experience
ACCA/CA/CPA/CIMA or any equivalent qualifications are preferred
